The Sunken Ship.

Life starts on a single day and also ends on one. In between this time, our eyes are collecting memories. This is what we are calling a lifetime.

In March 2020, life in Europe changed dramatically. The Corona pandemic not only changed our daily lives, it also brought us new and unprecedented fears. Humanity changed, but not always in an exemplary or positive way. Even our advances in the 21st century do not always help, and I wonder if we are only listening to our basic instincts again in emergency situations.

This is the foundation of my observations the last weeks. „THE SUNKEN SHIP“ is meant as a warning to mankind. In which materialistic possessions - no matter how banal they may be - are more important than social cohesion. Through provocation, sarcasm and small hidden messages, I transport this warning not only to raise the moral pointing finger, but also to bring a smile to the viewer while observing my photos and think through this during these tremendously challenging times.

I invite the viewer to join me on a journey that represents the last weeks. Starting in chaos and ending in a hope that everything can only get better.
